No rest for the weary

Mood: Really tired. Playing: Sound of the fans in the computer lab

I'm sorry that I haven't posted lately, or that I haven't written some of you back. Since I've gotten back I feel like I'm climbing up hill - jet lag is still bad, not able to sleep longer than 4 or 5 hours a night. After I found my flat tire, my parking brake broke or is stuck on my car, so I can't drive it to fix it. If you have any ideas, please help.

Actually, this is small news. I have a serious prayer request for you all: one of my best friends here at seminary found out yesterday morning that her dad died suddenly Monday night. It was totally unexpected, and the family is really hurting. All of them are Christians, so they can be comforted with knowing that he is with God and resting in His glory, but it doesn't change the fact that they miss their dad/husband. Please pray for them. Lisa and I drove her home yesterday to be with her family and to stay with them. Lisa and I drove back early this morning so I could go to work, so once again I only got about 2 hours of sleep. I am hoping to get up there this weekend to just stay with her... but I have to get my car working first, and I'm all but broke after my trip. Please pray that God will guide - I trust Him and know that He is mightier than death, bigger than our problems, and His faithfulness is beyond words. Even in this time of great tragedy, God is faithful - the family is finding comfort in that. Please pray that God would continue to pour out comfort and rest onto my friend, her mother, and her four brothers and sisters; that He would surround them with loved ones who can help carry the burden left behind, and for wisdom in what the next step is for all of them.
