Would you like a side of peer pressure with your handful of chicken?
YES!! After much gentle (and not so gentle) nudging, I have FINALLY convinced my roommates Jen and Lisa to create their own blogs ... I convinced them that they were missing out on a whole world of magic, mystery, and enchantment -- so check out their blogs and help me welcome them to the blogosphere!

Last night my roommates and I had my first experience eating Jordanian food - our friends Joey and Mike served there this summer and treated us to a traditional meal of "mensaf" (spelling courtesy of Jen - I hope she was right). Anyway, the guys and our other friend Jason treated us by bringing a huge pan of it to our apartment. We ate the interesting combination of seasoned baked chicken and yogurt/rice concoction in the traditional way of sitting on the floor and eating with our hands. It was really fun and delicious... as the evening progressed a few more people showed up and we enjoyed a great night of eating, talking, and hearing about summer mission trips.
I was also introduced to an interesting new game called "Chili-moo-moo," a CRAZY game involving sharp memory skills, silly animal poses, and outrageous sound effects. At some points we were laughing so hard that I wondered if we were going to be able to keep our dinner down. I just hope the lady living under us doesn't think that we keep an asylum in our apartment... or a zoo.
Anyway, it's back to studying for me -- I have gotten pretty behind on reading but hope to remedy that by Friday. I have realized that I have been posting a lot of serious blogs recently (it seems that I post more when I am wrestling or intensely thinking about something). I don't apologize for any of my posts, but I have realized that I haven't really been posting much about life in general, things that have made me laugh recently, or crazy animal games. I think blogging can be much like preparing meals: meat and potatoes give strength and health, but a little cake once in a while is nice. So, enjoy your slice of Donna pie .... did I actually just say that? Yeesh... maybe I should stick to brooding... have a great week, everybody!
