MAN, God is good!

"Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yes, our God is merciful.
The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me." Psalm 116:5-6

Thank you all so much for your prayers and concerns - it is so comforting to know that we have such a large family of brothers and sisters in Christ who we can reach out to when we are weary and troubled.

Just so you know, the situation with my friend that was so difficult has changed course and location, though it is by no means resolved - please continue to pray for the Lord to work and bring us to true repentance. May the Lord glorify Himself even in this situation as others step in to help and those of us previously involved can step out for a while.

Also, in one sense my wrestling with decisions for the future has subsided - I have made some important decisions that I have much peace and joy about now. I am still seeking godly counsel and constantly before the Lord for wisdom and guidance (as we should be), but I have a quiet confidence in the Lord and how He cares for His children, even little ol' gals like me who like to try to grab the controls sometimes. :) No one can ever convince me that God is an impersonal God - He has proven Himself over and over to be infinitely powerful and knowing, and He is a loving Father to His children. We simply must come to Him on His terms, trusting that His terms are best.

In other news, my dad just informed me yesterday that my two older brothers (from my dad's first marriage) were evacuated during Hurricane Rita (they are in south Texas). Anyway, they aren't sure about the damage done to their homes but one of my nephews is coming up with my dad this weekend (my dad's a truck driver on a regular route to Corpus Christi, TX). Depending on conditions, little David (my 15-year old nephew) may have to fly out of Louisville to Florida to stay with his mom and enroll in school there. If you could, please pray for my brothers and their families during this time, as well as the others who are without electricity and water for the time being.

All right, I REALLY have to get cracking on my studies - haven't gotten much done academically-speaking this week. Enjoy your weekends - I promise to try to post something more fun soon!

Speaking of God noticing the "lil' gals"...

I was reading out of the Book of Mark the other night. It was the passage about the woman with the "issue of blood" that had lasted 10 years. God really covicted me about the plight of this poor woman: here she was, so tired, so wasted, and so desperate for just one touch of the Lord's simple garments, that she mustered all of her might, and emboldened herself to push thru the crowd...

with just one simple hope: brushing the corner of Jesus' garments. (Are you stunned by the humility of this scene yet?)

But the best part is when Christ, even though there must have been TONS of strangers pushing against him from all sides...

HE FELT THE WOMAN TOUCH HIM!!!

He actually stopped and took notice. He even asked His disciples (they must have thought He was nuts, by the way...). And He so gently and compassionately addressed her - spoke Truth to her - He took notice of even her. How does that not move us all to awe?

Right on, Sister Don. Thank the Lord He takes notice of all us "lil' gals."

Donna, c'mon...aren't you going to let your blog readers know what all these "descisions" you have made are about your future? The title of your next blog should be something like, "A New Start."

All in good time, Bradley. :)

I tend to shy away from writing about such things online... but I will consider it if more people display an interest in knowing about the intimate details of my life. :)

I just finished a poll, and 97% of everyone wants to hear more of the intimate details of the life of Donnawonna.

The other 3% are lying.
