The Best Christmas Present Ever

Guess what?

As of December 23, 2005 - I am engaged to be married to one Jason Shaw: fellow classmate at seminary, dear friend, brother in Christ, co-musician, ministry partner, a man of prayer, one who serves others selflessly, who leads with conviction, and one whom I look forward to soon call my husband.
Shameless promotion of my fiance' : Jason's roommate and I recently posted about why we love Jason so much - check them out at these links to hear more about him and to get a glimpse of what God has and is doing in his life:

Mike's Reasons why he likes Jason Shaw

For those of you who have witnessed and have been a part of our story for the last 1 1/2 years, thank you for all of your support, counsel, and prayer. We thank you so much for everything you have done - please continue to pray for us as we prepare for marriage and transitioning into a different season of our lives. For those of you whom this may be the first you have heard of it -- SURPRISE! :) Seriously, we would appreciate your prayers and encouragement as well.
Our story is a story of grace - we are undeserving of all of the blessings, trials, and favor that the Lord has lavished on us and how He has sanctified us through all of our experiences. I am so thankful for everything that God has taught me over the last couple of years - I had so much to learn and to grow into, and look forward to continuing and growing together with Jason in the years to come.
I hope that you had a very blessed and happy new year -- don't forget to thank our Father for His immeasurable blessings from 2005, and begin 2006 with His praise on your lips.
Grace and peace to you all through our Lord Jesus Christ...

Donna

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane-
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn-
world serves its own needs, don't misserve your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height, down hight Wire in a fire, representing seven games in a government for hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered, crop. Look at that low plane! Fine, then. Uh oh, overflow, population, common group, but it'll do.Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its own needs Listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture andthe revered and the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign towers.Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning, blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate.Light a candle, light a motive. step down, step down. Watch your heel crush, crush. Uh-oh, this means no fear- cavalier. Renegade steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies.
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline.

(chorus)
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (it's time I had some time alone)
I feel fine

It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (it's time I had some time alone)

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide.Mountains sit in a line.
Leonard Bernstein, Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom!
You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right

It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (it's time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (it's time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (it's time I had some time alone)

You guys remind me that "waiting upon the Lord" in faith and hope is NEVER a mistake.

May God grant you peace and joy rooted in His perfect love and plan for your lives.

I love you both - and can't WAIT until the big day...

Among those with joy I have the most
Concerning what you have written in this recent post
Soon I will sit and listen and enjoy to explore
As Jason relates the story, in detail more
I'm happy so happy, that it's all coming to consumation
I await the wedding with joyous anticipation
