FOTF talks about Sudan
My heart breaks again as I am reminded of the atrocities going on in Southern Sudan and Northern Uganda... today on Focus on the Family, Dr. Dobson invited Wes and Vicki Bently to come and talk about their ministry to children/families in that area.
I WANT TO BE THERE -- right now, drop everything and go minister to those children and families who are hurting, who are in need to discipleship and the love and truth of Jesus. Oh Lord - that you would send me! Your ways are higher than mine, and I trust Your sovereignty... but I am willing. Send those who You would use to show Yourself to the hurting people of Sudan, that would minister in a way that draws people to You and Your Son, Jesus Christ. Strengthen those who follow You and suffer for Your sake... renew their joy in the midst of such horrible suffering as only You can.. thank You for Your constant promise that You are with us and never forsake us.
Please take the time to listen to this radio broadcast - you can link to it online here: http://www.family.org/fmedia/broadcast/a0038363.cfm
Also, you can link to Wes and Vicki's ministry site here: http://www.farreachingministries.org/
PLEASE PRAY for them and those to whom they minister -- do not think that prayer if ineffective.. the Lord chooses to use our prayers to affect our situations and to move people. And consider today how blessed you are if you live in a land where you can worship without fear of persecution... let us not forget those who do not. Let's fight for them on our knees today, tomorrow, and until the Lord comes to take us out of this suffering world. Come, Lord Jesus.
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance..." - James 1:2

Hm... That reminds me of what Dr. Allison shared in Systematic today (the part about Moses interceding on Israel's behalf). Amen - God has graciously included us to participate in His works thru the power of prayer, and we must ABSOLUTELY be consistent, faithful, and CONCERNED for our tortured brothers and sisters overseas.
Thanks for the links, Donna. I'll have to check them out later for sure.
A deeply moving broadcast, Donna. God help us to continue to be faithful in praying for our dear brothers and sisters in the Sudan.
