To all my curious visitors...

There have been several comments left on my blog asking about recent developments in my life... and while I am more than happy to tell you about them in person, I have decided for the time being to refrain from posting about it. It's not that I don't want my blogging community to know about my goings-ons, but for now I think it is most profitable to be prayerful, exhibiting wisdom, and to let friends know by word of mouth. But don't worry - Lord willing, I will not keep you in the dark forever. :) Feel free to contact me privately if you simply cannot stand the suspense. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

I read a great quote today in a devotional from St. Thomas Aquinas, and it has struck a chord with me in this season of my life. I pray that the Lord will cultivate in me this same desire, and that the cry of my heart would be to know God more intimately and to love Him with every fiber of my being. Be encouraged by these words, be challenged to seek the same devotion to Him, and know that God is always working out His good, pleasing, and perfect will in our lives.

"Grant, O Lord my God, that I may never fall away in success or in failure; that I may not be prideful in prosperity nor dejected in adversity. Let me rejoice only in what unites us and sorrow only in what separates us. May I strive to please no one or fear to displease anyone except Yourself. May I seek always the things that are eternal and never those that are only temporal. May I shun any joy that is without You and never seek any that is beside You. O Lord, may I delight in any work I do for You and tire of any rest that is apart from You. My God, let me direct my heart towards You, and in my failings, always repent with a purpose of amendment."

-St. Thomas Aquinas

To God be the glory!

Oh, good, you're still out there... whew.

I think that's very smart of you to focus on God and not let little life things take precedence.

Hope everything's going well Donnawonnamotopoeia :)

Donna,

That quote from Tom is penetrating. I admire your discernment in not posting your personal "goings-on's" just yet. My comment was really more of a tease than a sincere request.
