Why I like Jason Shaw (Part Deux)
Okay, Mike recently posted a blog entry that I have to encourage everyone to read, titled "Why I like Jason Shaw." And in the spirit of encouraging such a great guy, I wanted to offer my own reasons why I like this man of God so much and testify to what the Lord is doing in his life:1) Jason continually looks for ways to serve others, even if it is inconvenient or uncomfortable to himself.
2) When Jason commits to something, he does it with his whole heart - he is a man of integrity and desires to totally give himself over the will of the Father, no matter what the cost.
3) Jason takes the time to be sensitive to others, and often pours genuine compassion on those who are hurting or lost.
4) Jason takes the time to really think, study, and pray through difficult issues and decisions... especially his "explorations." :)
5) Jason has been gifted with the ability to lead others in worship through song - I always enjoy singing praises to our Father with him.
6) Jason treats me as a valuable woman of God and is continually speaking words of encouragement and wisdom, exhorting me to look to Christ in all things.
7) Jason brings me flowers and soup when I am sick and relevent books and CDs when I am wrestling with certain issues or topics, as well as asking me what Scriptures bring light to the issue at hand.
8) Jason is willing to create, prepare, and eat a vegan Thanksgiving meal with my family.
9) Jason is king of the Props game.
10) Jason speaks with kindness and the word "grace" is continually on his lips.
Conclusion: Jason Shaw is a child of grace and is a wonderful testimony of what the Lord can do in a life that is completely submitted to Him. I am privileged to know him and my life is richer because he is a part of it.

Ditto!
Only I don't remember getting any flowers (and I'm sick right now!)...or soup...or ANYTHING for that matter...
Forget it! I take it all back...
:)
I am so thankful that the Lord has given you the gift of each other. As your friend, I am thankful that Jason has blessed you in so many ways...as I know you have in return.
And you're right...the flowers and soup were very thoughtful. Hope you are having a good visit tonight...and the spaghetti you made for dinner was delicious!
We had a fun night: a trip to the Bass Pro Shop (a.k.a. Six Flags over Fargo), free dessert at Fazolis (thanks for the gift card, girls), and some rockin out on our guitars and singing at the top of our lungs. Wish you were here - COME HOME NOW!!!
HA HAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey guys stop stop...he was my friend first:) HA HAAAA
Even though me and Jason serve together at Walnut, and work together at Walnut, I miss the days when we lived together just in view of the city lights in Fuller 119! It makes me laugh everytime I think about how I was one of the persons that got to give Jason his first impression of what students at an EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE SOUTHERN BAPTIST, FUNDAMENTAL, CALVINISTIC, CHRISTIAN HEDONISTIC, BIBLE THUMPIN', EVANGELIZIN', IN-YA-FACIN'IZIN', STREIGHT GOSPELIZIN' WIT NO COMPROMIZIN', PHILOSIPHIZIN' and THEOLOGIZIN' WIT NO APOLOGIZIN' ETC.
But don't worry, I don't think it took long before He realized that all Southern Baptist's were just like me.
By the way Donna, I've been yall's biggest fan since day one (no lie--and you knowdiss). I got see you guys through the muddy waters of first starters (HA HAAAAA!)

Why I Like Jason:Basically, because God's favor is on His life, and I see the Spirit at work so powerfully within Him. He is an example of one "devoted to prayer" and diligent in the scriptures, searching sincerily at every turn for the will of God, and applying everything he reads to his everyday life. The thing that he most blessed me with is this: a deeper desire to live more conservative. I am still striving to be more and more like Jason in my spending habits (i.e. having about 2 or 3 shirts, two pears of pants and one shoe, check out books instead of buying them, borrow CD's instead of buying them, starving myself to feed others, etc.). Seriously, Jason has been a means of sanctification in my life and I thank God for him to this day. I'm privledged to serve with him in minstry for this season of life.
I'll come back later and write more......................................................................................................................................................JK

Bradley! You are SILLY! Thanks for all of your support, friendship, and counsel over the last 1 1/2 years. :) You are truly my brother in the Lord - I feel like I can beat you up and talk with you at the same time! Thanks man
Now Donna...you know I've only been there for you and hoped for your best for one reason: THE SAKE OF MY PLEASURE! But, since you thank me for it...what can I say? I have greatly enjoyed our friendship and hope that it will continue to be as edifying as it has in the past for the both of us. I miss hanging out all the time like we used to, but I guess that's just life. You guys have every ounce of blessing I have in me on your relationship. Thanks for thanking me (I hope you enjoyed it). HA HAAAAA!

"For the sake of my name I delay my wrath, and for my praise I restrain it from you, in order not to cut you off"...Isa. 48:9...
Grace...hmmm...given a chance and another...hanging by a divine fingertip upon the precipice of fiery justice...
but then showered with blessing, a deluge of heartfelt affection and knowing smiles and tender mercies for miles and miles of dusty wilderness, making deserts into gardens with a timely conversation and a hug that lasted just a moment or two longer than formality...and my friends love me, and i'm george bailey again, tearfully broken, in aweful gratitude for the just penalty removed and the rightness imputed - oh how glad we are that his righteousness is not a cold abstract diploma to hang on the wall of our lives. He is righteous in relating, pure in conversing, spotless in hugging and kissing and embracing, without error in his triune love... and this blameless type of relating love has been imputed to us as well, in the fleshed out, spirit-filled moments, and then one day before his throne as sinners stand before a holy God and he looks on Christ - the perfect lover - and grants us the honor of being covered.
all grace. every moment. every friend. I love you all so much.
