Highlights from the last 24 hours

- Ate leftover meatloaf this afternoon with leftover green beans... why is it that meatloaf always taste better after it's been sitting in the fridge?

- Still working on wedding stuff... things are coming along well, especially with the Jason's partnership in all of this (the most proactive and thoughtful fiance EVER) and my future mother-in-law. I am so thankful for them both, as well as so many others who have offered to help us.

- Prayed through Lamentations 3 last night... very refreshing in light of some present trials. Reflected again on it tonight with Jason as well as Hebrews 12. How great our God is, and His mercy is immeasurable, even in His times of discipline and times of hardship.

-Did a lot of filing and creating/updating spreadsheets at work today... had a good talk with my boss about simplicity and the brevity of life.

- Called most of my aunts and uncles last night to announce the wedding and to get mailing addresses for invitations. Found out some good news, some sad news... my cousin Robbie is in Iraq (I didn't know) and he was injured around Christmas. He was thrown from a Humvee when they were hit by a bomb.. he had a few broken ribs and some other injuries, but he's back with his unit now. He fared better than the other two who were with him - the guy in the passenger seat was killed instantly, and the woman driving had to have both legs and an arm amputated. Please pray for my cousin and the troops in Iraq, as well as my other relatives in the military (I also have one brother in the army, another brother in the Air Force, and (I think) a couple of other cousins in the navy).

- I love my roommates.

- Had a strawberry-icing-covered donut tonight from Wal-Mart... I think I may have shed a tear, it was so beautiful.

Donna, thanks for commenting on my blog! And meatloaf tastes better the next day because it's an agglomeration of lots of different ingredients, and the flavors of each bit have to soak each other up. Same with lasagna.

Mmmm...

The fridge also tastes better after it's had meatloaf sitting in it for a day, I noticed.

I must commend you for your mad excell spreadsheet making skills...this is one of your particular areas of genius.

On another note, we love you too! Roommates for life! (ok, just kidding...really)

Well, I am off to class. BTW, I got that 9 page paper done this afternoon...that I started writing this morning! It was a real stretch having a paper due one week into class, but it's done! God was faithful. See you tonight after class...I will make sure to pass on a "Howdy" to Dr. Parker for you.
