Orange you glad you love Jesus?

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head, except you can't remember all of the lines? I am currently experiencing such an occasion.

When I was in middle/high school, I was part of a puppet/clown ministry team in our church. We also performed at a few local nursing homes, some community outreach, and local parade (as clowns - I was a hobo named Patches). Anyway, we would perform one song in particular about the fruit of the spirit... except I can't remember all of it! It feels like when you have an itch right in the middle of your back where you can't scratch it, but instead it taunts you as it stays just out of reach. I have tried googling parts of the lyrics, only to no avail. I tried singing it out loud numerous times (poor Jason) only to get stuck in the same places...

So, in a final desperate stab to resolve this, I am imploring my blogging community for help. If you know this song, please let me know the missing lines. It's not a life or death situation (yet), but it would bring much peace of mind for me and Jason who has probably heard enough about it. :) Also, it would be a fun song to teach to the kids at our fellowship... IF I remember the rest of the song! Here is what I remember -- feel free to fill in the blanks. Do you know another fun fruit of the spirit song?

Orange you glad you love Jesus?
Orange you glad he loves you?

(spoken) I've got the fruits of the Spirit, c'mon let's hear it!

I've got love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance; love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance; meekness, and temperance, meekness, and temperance.

I don't know that one, but when I used to work with FCA camps and conventions, we did this one:

I also googled and searched for yours, but alas, it was in vain.

(PS - we loved your thank-you note... too funny!)

YOINKS!! I remember the first blank line: "He's a peachy-keen Savior to have.."

Okay, it's not the most theological song out there, but it's fun to sing. We would have a table with all the different fruit so as we sang one kid was picked out to stand by the table and pick it up and wave it around for the other kids to see. Good times.

Problem solved - the second missing line came to me this morning:

"It's a-pear-antly clear in His Word,"

PS: Catherine- I remember those FCA Conventions, good times. A fruit of the Spirit's not a TURBO BANANA...

YES!!! Ohhhh, and then Gavin always contorted his body in strange and dangerous ways, leaping into the air and landing without regard for the people and objects in his vicinity, amusing the kids and leading the adults to subconsciously scan the room for the nearest first aid kit.... ah, memories.

So I had to check back to see if you had made progress - I'm so happy that you figured out your song lyrics! Pretty impressive that you know a song that Google has never heard of... that's gotta be a triumph of sorts.

I can't believe that other people know it too!!
That's awesome.
It looks about right to us, but we thought there might be a couple other fruit, but can't remember.
But this is awesome!!
Thanks for blogging!!

I am SO glad I found this post! I have been singing this song (the parts I can remember) for a few days now. I'm so glad you filled in the blanks! I think this is the whole version...

Orange you glad you love Jesus?
Orange you glad He loves you?
He's a peach-a-king Savior.
I'll never be blueberry blue.

His power makes me bananas.
He's the apple of my eye.
It's a-pear-antly clear in His Word
He's raisin us when we die.

He saved me out of the pits of hell.
I'm plum happy to be
The child of a grape big God.
I've got His fruits on my tree.

I'm so glad others out there had the same great experience I did as a kid. Thanks to all for helping fill in the blanks in my head... Now, if I could only remember the whole tune. I get to "He's the apple of my eye" and I lose it.
